Can I be reimbursed for refractive surgery (laser eye surgery or lens implantation) from my health insurance?

Many health insurers reimburse a small part of the costs of an eye laser treatment or a lens implant from the supplementary insurance.

In some cases, in exceptional medical necessity and after permission from your health insurer, refractive surgery treatment can be reimbursed from the basic insurance. In case of medical necessity you should think of intolerance to contact lenses in combination with a large difference in diopters (>4) between both eyes or a high strength >-10. Our optometrists are familiar with the conditions and will inform you if you may be eligible for reimbursement under the basic insurance.
