Yes, it is possible to get a reimbursement for cataract surgery. Cataract is a condition and the procedure is covered by the basic insurance. You should think of a compensation of about €700 per eye. Consult your policy conditions and/or health insurer for the exact amount. The reimbursement is higher with a refund insurance.
Health insurers only reimburse monofocal lenses, so you still have to wear reading glasses after cataract surgery. A reimbursement for a premium lens (trifocal/toric lens) will only be partially reimbursed from the supplementary insurance. Not all insurers offer reimbursement via the supplementary insurance
