What complications occur with laser eye surgery?

Laser eye surgery is a relatively minor procedure and is generally safe. However, the treatment, like other medical procedures, is not 100% risk-free. Despite the fact that the treatment is performed by a very experienced surgeon, the possibility of a complication can never be ruled out with medical interventions. In addition, every body is different. Fortunately, complications that can occur are often treatable.

If during the preliminary examination it appears that you are at an increased risk of complications, we will of course discuss this with you first. You can then make the right decision in consultation with the doctor. If the doctor considers the risk too great, he may advise not to do the treatment.

There are complications that arise shortly after the procedure, such as an infection. Problems can also arise for a longer time after an operation, such as dry eyes. These results are based on our own patient group and data. As you can see, the risk of complications is very small.
