Why does ReLEx® SMILE not have wavefront technology?
The wavefront technology is an additional topographically controlled surface treatment that can only be performed with the eximer laser, so with Intralasik or TransPRK.
ReLEx® SMILE uses a completely different technique to perform the treatment. By creating a lenticule instead of lasering on a flat surface, the effect is completely different. A Relex Smile treatment is comparable to Intralasik and Transprk with wavefront in terms of scattering such as glare and halo.
