Can a cylinder abnormality be treated with IntraLASIK?
IntraLASIK can correct almost all different types of strength, both minus and plus strengths as well as cylinder deviations.
A cylinder deviation occurs when the eyeball is not round but oval, like a rugby ball. The light then refracts in different directions and two focal points are created. This will cause blurry or double vision.
Usually the strength of a cylinder does not exceed -6.0 Dpt and the laser has no trouble correcting this. The laser can be set to make the cornea (the front of your eye) ’rounder’.
