Can I become blind by inserting a conversion lens?

Placing a conversion lens is a very safe method. You cannot go blind.

A serious, but very rare complication (less than 0.001%), is a bacterial infection of the inside of the eye that can lead to severe vision loss. This complication is called endophthalmitis. The symptoms are often severe pain, redness and greatly reduced vision.
