What is monovision?

One of the options for becoming less dependent on reading glasses after laser eye surgery is to have yourself treated according to the monovision principle. This principle means that we treat 1 eye (usually the dominant eye) for distance strength and treat the other eye for reading strength.

It is important to try this principle. If you are interested, we can advise which contact lenses or glasses you should try. You will receive a prescription for this called “monovision advice”. You decide whether you want to be treated according to this principle.

In some cases it is also possible to create monovision by treating 1 eye. In this case too, you will have to test at home whether the choice is suitable for you.
